Hi!
I'm using your theme "A little touch of purple Theme" for my blog, but I'm facing some language problems.

Blog must be in English, but some text of the theme automatically changed in Italian (maybe my ID in Italy is recognized, I don't know) and that's a big problem since the blog cannot be like that. It has to be all in English.

I could fixed something manually, but I cannot find a solution for the comments (for instance, the sentence "Leave a comment" is in Italian!) and the Calendar Plus (which has months' names and days' letters in Italian).

I didn't download any Italian language plugin, so I cannot understant the reason of all of this and how to figure it out and solve the problem.

May you please help me to find out how to have everything in English?

Thanks in advance!

Hi Annarita,

you're using a italien WordPress Version?

There is no italien language pack for this theme, so wordpress will be translate the "most used text lines" automaticly.

You easily can change this…

Open the config.php (you will find it in your installation root) and search for this line;

define ('WPLANG', '');

and replace with

define ('WPLANG', 'en_EN');

This tells WordPres to use the english language pack. But it can be, that your Backend is english too. But I'm not sure… confused

Thanks Thomas.

The main problem is that I cannot find any config.php!

I upgraded the English WordPress version, but nothing chanced. I was thinking to download the last English verion again, but I'm afraid to lose my data.

Hi,

the wp-config.php is a part of your WordPress Installation. It´s the file where you deposited your database settings (DB-Name, User, Password and so on)…

Take a look in the folder, where WP is installed. coollaugh

I know what is that, but it's no there. I know that it sound crazy and it seems impossible to me too, but that's it.

I will talk to the friend who download Wordpress in my computer in first place and I will ask her if she changed anything.

Otherwise I'm afraid I have to re-install WOrdpress again, but I guess I will lose everything won't I?

In the meanwhile, thanks for you help. I hope to solve everything.

98,7% chance, that you wont loose anything. But it's highly recommended to backup your database and/or themes before you update your WP or reinstall it.

Finally I made!!!

So you were right. WP was in Italian though I had ask my friend to download the Italian one (it was my very first time using that so this friend kindly helped me!!). And the en_EN.mo got lost.

So we made the back up and then we downloaded the English version of WP and installed it. And now everything is in English as I wanted to be!!!

Thanks for your help, Thomas!
